Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Microsoft and Power BI Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Microsoft technologies and experience in developing, deploying, and managing Power BI reports and dashboards. This role will be responsible for gathering business requirements, transforming data into meaningful insights, and supporting the business with analytical tools to drive decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
• Power BI Development:
o Design, develop, and deploy Power BI reports and dashboards that are visually appealing, interactive, and optimized for performance.
o Transform raw data from multiple sources (databases, APIs, flat files, etc.) into user-friendly dashboards and reports.
o Create data models and establish KPIs, metrics, and reports to support business decision-making.
o Implement row-level security (RLS) in Power BI reports and dashboards.
o Schedule data refreshes and troubleshoot issues related to Power BI service and reports.
• Data Analysis & Integration:
o Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into functional reporting solutions.
o Connect Power BI to various data sources, including SQL Server, Azure, SharePoint, and Excel.
o Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) using Power Query and M code.
o Collaborate with data engineers to define and implement data warehouse models.
• Microsoft Technology Stack:
o Utilize other Microsoft technologies such as SQL Server, Azure Data Services, Excel, and SharePoint for data integration and reporting.
o Develop and maintain SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) reports when required.
o Support automation and process improvement using Power Automate and Power Apps.
• Optimization and Performance:
o Ensure the quality and performance of reports and dashboards by optimizing DAX queries, data models, and Power BI configurations.
o Monitor and enhance performance for large datasets and ensure reports load efficiently.
• Collaboration & Support:
o Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, data engineers, and IT to deliver high-quality solutions.
o Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Power BI issues and assist end-users with report access and usability.
o Train end-users on Power BI tools and capabilities to empower self-service analytics.
Qualifications:
• Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• Experience:
o Proven experience as a Power BI Developer or in a similar role.
o Strong experience with Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and data visualization best practices.
o Experience with SQL Server, T-SQL, SSRS, and ETL processes.
o Familiarity with Microsoft Azure Data Services (Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory) and cloud-based BI environments.
o Experience with Power Apps and Power Automate is a plus.
• Skills:
o Proficiency in Power BI, including report and dashboard development, data modeling, and DAX.
o Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and database design.
o Excellent knowledge of SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Microsoft Power BI certification or related certifications.
• Experience in advanced analytics, including machine learning, statistical modeling, and data science tools (Python, R) is a plus.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools like Jira or Trello.
